In these moments, bereaved owners have to deal not only with the pain of loss, but also with the practical steps that need to be taken to ensure a final resting place for their pet.
In this quick guide, we help answer some of your questions related to pet cremation, so that you have the information you need when you need it most.
How do I arrange a Pet Cremation?
The PCS team are here to guide you through the process of arranging a pet cremation. The first step at this difficult time, is to get in touch with us to arrange to bring your pet to us, or, if your local site offers the service, for us to collect them if you prefer.
Speak to one of our compassionate staff to let them know your preferences, and whether you’d like to have some time in one of our Farewell Rooms, which are peaceful spaces for you to say your final farewells.
In the farewell room, there are numerous books of remembrance where hundreds of letters, poems and photographs received over the years with moving tributes, poems and written memories of pets are on display. You can pause and take some time to read through some of these if you wish, and draw comfort from other pet owners who share your grief.
You can also let us know if you’d like us to arrange a keepsake such as some fur clippings, paw prints or similar.
Choose your casket or urn, and if you would like, you can also choose from our range of memorials and keepsakes, but this is completely optional.
Once we have performed the cremation we will let you know, and you can collect your pet’s ashes.
What pet cremation options do you offer?
We offer bereaved pet owners two options for cremation:
Individual Cremation
For an individual pet cremation, your pet will be cremated alone, in a clean enclosed chamber. Clients are guaranteed that the ashes you receive or are placed into our memorial garden, will be all and only those of your beloved pet.
Standard Communal Cremation
A number of pets will be cremated together. As there is no separation of pets in this process, you will not receive any ashes back from a communal cremation.

I would really like to create some sort of keepsake or pet memorial – do you offer this sort of service?
Yes we do – we know how important your furry friend is to you, and to help you keep that memory of them very much alive, we offer a range of keepsakes such as remembrance books, pet memorials, caskets, urns and a pawprint jewellery range.
Can you offer any support for the loss of my pet?
Our team are supportive and on-hand to help you, but we don’t offer professional support services. We can, however, recommend some excellent resources – we understand that in these incredibly difficult times, everyone needs access to support to help them deal with the loss, and help with the practical decisions that need to be made.
